1. Purpose and Australian privacy framework
This Privacy Policy explains how BELAC Media ("we", "us", "our") manages personal information when you use belacmedia.com.au (our "Site") and when we communicate or deliver services to you. We prepare this policy to reflect the matters organisations are expected to address under Australian Privacy Principle 1 (open and transparent management of personal information) in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) ("Privacy Act") and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). Guidance is published by the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
Whether every Privacy Act obligation applies to us can depend on factors such as annual turnover and the nature of our activities. Regardless, we aim to handle personal information consistently with the APPs as described here. This policy should be read with our Terms of Service and any signed service agreement.

- Client portal and billing — login credentials (hashed passwords), invoice and payment records, communication history.

- SEO checker tool — URL submitted, email (if provided), and generated report data.

Our services are directed at businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.

The Site may link to third-party websites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Review their policies before providing personal information.
14. Employee and contractor records
Employee records handled solely in relation to employment may be exempt from parts of the Privacy Act. This policy focuses on customer and website-user information.
15. Credit reporting
We do not engage in credit reporting activities.
16. Western Australian government contracts
If we provide services to a WA government agency under a contract that expressly requires compliance with applicable privacy legislation, we handle personal information as that contract requires in addition to this policy.
